Ambassador Mahinder Singh made a courtesy call on H.E. Jose Luis Berroteran, Minister of Agriculture and Land, on 28 January 2015. The purpose was to exchange views on enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector. The proposed areas of collaboration include the oil palm sector, animal feed processing and agricultural development. Minister Berroteran had visited Malaysia in 2004 where he had the opportunity to visit oil palm plantations and appreciate the various palm-oil-based products. Venezuela was keen to acquire oil palm seedlings from Malaysia to increase the acreage of oil palm in the country.
