Caracas, 3 July 2024— The Embassy of Malaysia in Caracas welcomed twelve students from the International Relations Faculty of Venezuela Central University (UCV) for an engaging and insightful briefing session. The session, organised at UCV’s request, aimed to give the students a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s foreign policy, diplomatic efforts, and the crucial role embassies play in fostering international relations.
Led by the Chargé d'Affaires, the briefing delved into Malaysia’s commitment to peace, stability, and cooperation on both regional and global fronts. The Chargé d’Affaires shared stories and examples of Malaysia’s strong bilateral relationship with Venezuela, particularly in areas such as trade, education, and cultural exchanges. The students were also introduced to the day-to-day responsibilities of the embassy, including providing consular services, facilitating diplomatic discussions, and promoting Malaysia’s interests abroad.
The session wasn’t just about foreign policy. The students were treated to a glimpse of Malaysia’s rich and vibrant culture, diverse heritage, and dynamic economy. Through the discussions, the Chargé d'Affaires highlighted Malaysia’s role as a key player in Southeast Asia and its active contributions to ASEAN’s goals of regional integration. alaysia balances its economic strength and cultural diversity on the global stage while building meaningful international relationships.
The students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to interact directly with embassy officials, describing the session as inspiring and practical. They appreciated the chance to bridge the gap between their classroom studies and real-world diplomacy. One of the highlights was introducing the Embassy’s upcoming program, 'Malaysia Goes to Campus,' which aims to bring similar diplomatic learning experiences to students across Venezuela. The program will allow even more students to engage with embassy officials, learn about Malaysia’s foreign policy, and discuss topics like global diplomacy, trade, and cultural exchange.
