Caracas, 16 September 2024 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Caracas successfully organised "The Art of Unity," a cultural program to commemorate Malaysia's 67th Independence Day and 61st Malaysia Day. The event brought together diplomats, government officials, business leaders, media representatives, and strategic partners, showcasing Malaysia's rich cultural diversity and strengthening ties between Malaysia and Venezuela.
The program began with the national anthems of both nations, "Negaraku" and "Gloria al Bravo Pueblo," followed by a traditional Bidayuh welcome dance, "Rajang Beuh." Chargé d'Affaires Mr. Shalihin Annuar delivered a welcoming speech highlighting the event's theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Jiwa Merdeka,” which embodies the spirit of freedom and unity. He also shared insights from the Prime Minister’s message on true independence, emphasizing justice, prosperity, and equality for all citizens. The Vice Minister for Asia, Middle East, and Oceania, H.E. Tatiana Josefina Pugh Moreno, praised Malaysia's unity and progress, and its contributions to global issues on multilateral platforms.
The audience enjoyed captivating performances of the Baba Nyonya dance "Trilalila" and the Malay "Tari Inang Cemara," followed by a curated exhibition of art and crafts representing Malaysia's multi-ethnic heritage. Guests were treated to traditional Malaysian dishes such as Satay, Nasi Lemak, Keropok Ikan, and Kek Lapis Sarawak, offering a delightful taste of Malaysia's culinary diversity.
This event not only celebrated Malaysia’s cultural identity but also garnered positive responses and media coverage, enhancing Malaysia’s visibility in Venezuela.
