Embassy of Malaysia Hosts UCV Students for Diplomatic Engagement

Caracas, 12 February 2025 – The Embassy of Malaysia welcomed ten students from the Faculty of International Relations at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) as part of their academic initiative to engage with foreign missions in the country. The visit provided the students with an opportunity to gain firsthand insights into Malaysia’s foreign policy, cultural diplomacy, and the vital role of the Embassy in fostering bilateral relations.

During the engagement session, the Chargé d'Affaires delivered an informative presentation covering Malaysia’s rich history, cultural heritage, and political and economic development. The session also highlighted Malaysia’s foreign policy priorities, with a particular emphasis on its leadership within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The students were informed that Malaysia is currently holding the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, underscoring its commitment to regional diplomacy and cooperation.

In addition to outlining Malaysia’s foreign policy, the CDA elaborated on the Embassy’s key functions in Venezuela, including consular services, cultural exchange programs, and diplomatic initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. The students displayed a keen interest in Malaysia’s governance model, particularly its constitutional monarchy and multicultural society, which serve as exemplary frameworks for unity in diversity.

At the conclusion of the session, the students expressed their appreciation for the Embassy’s support in facilitating their academic learning. They acknowledged the importance of such engagements in providing practical exposure to international diplomacy and foreign policy implementation. The students also voiced their enthusiasm for future collaborations between the Embassy and UCV, suggesting programs that could further enrich their academic experience.
