
Caracas, 21 April 2025 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Caracas opened a Book of Condolence on 21 and 22 April 2025 to honour the life and legacy of YAB Tun Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi, the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia, who passed away on 14 April 2025.
Throughout the two-day period, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organisations, and friends of Malaysia visited the Embassy to pay their respects. Many offered heartfelt messages, reflecting on Tun Abdullah’s contributions to Malaysia’s national development and his commitment to principled leadership, moderation, and interfaith harmony.
Tun Abdullah served as Prime Minister from 2003 to 2009, guiding Malaysia through a period of economic reform and administrative modernisation. His leadership was marked by an emphasis on Islam Hadhari, good governance, and education.
The Embassy of Malaysia expresses its sincere appreciation to all who joined in remembering Tun Abdullah’s distinguished legacy and stands in solidarity with Malaysians in mourning the passing of a respected statesman.
