FAMILY DAY AT MORROCOY NATIONAL PARK, FALCON STATE, VENEZUELA, 27 - 29 DECEMBER 2008
To wrap up the year 2008, the Home-based Staff of the Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela, organized a Family Day Trip to the Morrocoy National Park, in the Falcon State of Venezuela, on 27 – 29 December 2008. Whilst in there, they were accommodated at the “Posada Marina” or Marina Inn, in Chichiriviche, some 280 kilometers west of Caracas.
However, Puan Shahrulbariah A. Rashid, P.A. to the Ambassador, and her entire family, who were still on vacations in Italy and Turkey, were not able to join the rest of the Home-based Staff i.e. Ambassador Ramlan Kimin and Encik Mohd. Yusof Ahmad,Third Secretary, and his family. Joining them were Mr. Sadikin from the Indonesian Embassy in Caracas, and his family.
The Morrocoy National Park, which is located between the towns of Tucacas and Chichiriviche, in the eastern Caribbean coast of Falcon State, is renowned for its beautiful, isolated tropical beaches, shallow coral reefs and mangrove swamps, teeming with a wealth friendly marine birds that await exploration by naturalist travelers, scuba divers and lovers of the sun.
The complex sea ecosystems of mangrove-lined channels and estuaries protected by the confines of the maritime areas of the park are an ideal hideaway for birdwatching, cruising, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling and windsurfing enthusiasts. Beneath the surface of warm, clear water, abundant coral and fish life thrive along the reefs and mangrove roots. Overhead, the mangroves serve as lively rookeries for pink flamingos, herons, scarlet ibis, and frigate birds while the nearby salt lagoon and tidal flat of the “Cuare Nature Preserve” is a perfect location for morning and afternoon wildlife viewing. The 30 secluded “cayos” or keys or reef-formed islands inside the marine park are primarily uncrowded, offering snow-white beaches fringed with swaying coconut palms, ideals for relaxing during the midday heat. In other words, it is a perfect family destination.

Para terminar el año 2008, el personal diplomático de la Embajada en Caracas, Venezuela, organizó un Viaje en Familia al Parque Nacional Morrocoy, en el estado Falcón de Venezuela, del 27 al 29 de diciembre de 2008. Se alojaron en la "Posada Marina" en Chichiriviche, a unos 280 kilómetros al oeste de Caracas.
La Sra. Shahrulbariah A. Rashid, Asistente Administrativo del Embajador y su familia, quien se encuentra de vacaciones en Italia y Turquía, no pudieron unirse al resto del grupo, es decir el Embajador Ramlan Kimin y el Sr. Mohd. Yusof Ahmad, Tercer Secretario, y su familia. Se unieron a ellos el Sr. Sadikin de la Embajada de Indonesia en Caracas, y su familia.
El Parque Nacional Morrocoy, que se encuentra entre las localidades de Chichiriviche y Tucacas, en la costa oriental del Estado Falcón, es famoso por sus bellas y aisladas playas tropicales, arrecifes de coral y manglares, y está repleta de simpáticas aves marinas a la espera de los exploradores de la naturaleza, buceadores y amantes del sol.
El complejo ecosistemas de aguas bordeando los manglares y canales protegidos por las zonas marítimas del parque son un escondite ideal para los entusiastas observadores de aves, de cruceros, kayaking, submarinismo, buceo y windsurf. Debajo de las calientes agua claras, hay abundante corales y peces entre los arrecifes y manglares. En general, los manglares sirven de lugar de reproducción de los flamencos rosados, garzas, ibis escarlata y los pájaros fragata mientras que las cercanas lagunas saladas y el Golfo de Caure es un lugar perfecto para la observación de la vida silvestre tanto en la mañana como en la tarde. Los 30 Cayos aislados o arrecife en forma de islas en el interior del parque marina esta inhabitadas, ofreciendo playas de arena blanca rodeada de palmas de coco, ideal para relajarse durante el calor del mediodía. En otras palabras, es un destino familiar perfecto.
