On 25 October 2012, Ambassador Mahinder hosted a luncheon in honour of His Excellency Mr David Velazquez, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia, Middle East and Oceania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The Vice-Minister was accompanied by other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs namely Mrs Orietta Capony, Director General of the Department of Asia, Middle East and Oceania, Mr Engels Fuentes, Deputy Director General, Mr Anibal Jabour, Special Assistant of the Vice-Minister and Mrs Zhaybel Cardenas, Malaysian Desk officer. The luncheon provided a good opportunity for both sides to raise several issues in efforts to further enhance closer bilateral relations.
