Claudia Yang, a renowned Malaysian-born pianist gave an exhilarating performance for the first time at the National Center of Social Action for Music in Caracas, Venezuela on 10 April 2016. Caludia performed superbly on the piano and shared her expertise with the interpretation of the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No.1 in B flat minor, by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The Simon Bolivar Orchestra of Venezuela under the baton of maestro Diego Matheuz accompanied Claudia which also included the best orchestral creation of Sergei Rachmaninoff, Symphony No. 2 Glinka. During her visit to Caracas, Claudia also visited promising local musical schools under the programme called “Venezuelan Sistema” and gave masterclasses to a number of promising young Venezuelan pianists. Without doubt, her efforts contributed towards the enhancement of cultural cooperation between Malaysia and Venezuela.
