OFFICIAL VISIT OF H.E. RAMLAN KIMIN, HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR MALAYSIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, 13 - 18 NOVEMBER 2007 H.E. Ramlan Kimin made an Official Visit to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on 13 – 18 November 2007 aimed at presenting his Letters of Credence, accrediting him as the new High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for Malaysia to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, with Resident in Caracas, Venezuela, to His Excellency Professor George Maxwell Richards, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on Thursday, 15 November 2007, at 11.00 a.m. at President’s House, Port of Spain. The Presentation Ceremony of Letters of Credence was preceded by the Presentation of the Copies of his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Ambassador Sandra Honoré, Chief of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, a day earlier, on 14 November, at 09.00 a.m., at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Port of Spain. The next day, 16 November 2007, H.E. Ramlan Kimin attended an Official Dinner hosted by Their Excellencies Professor George Maxwell Richards, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Dr. Jean Ramjohn-Richards, wife of the President, in honour of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. More than 40 Heads of Diplomatic Missions including Chargés d’Affaires and their respective spouses attended the Dinner, eleven of whom with Residence in Whilst in Port of Spain, H.E. Ramlan Kimin made a courtesy call on and had a bilateral meeting with Her Excellency Edwin Leacock, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 14 November 2007, in the presence of the Director of Bilateral Relations Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Meetings with the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and selected Cabinet Ministers of Trinidad and Tobago which had been arranged earlier on, however, did not take place as the entire Members of the Cabinet led by the Prime Minister who had sworn in on 9 November 2007, were attending a five-day orientation retreat at Salybia, some 300 kilometers away from Port of Spain. RAMLAN KIMIN, ALTO COMISIONADO DE MALASIA A LA REPÚBLICA DE TRINIDAD Y TOBAGO , 13 AL 18 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 2007 La Presentación de la Ceremonia de las Cartas Credenciales fue posterior a la Presentación de las Cartas de Estilos al Excelentísima Embajadora Sandra Honoré, Jefe de Protocolo, Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de la República de Trinidad y Tobago, el día anterior, el 14 de noviembre de 2007, a las 09.00 a.m. en la sede del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, Puerto España. Al día siguiente, 16 de noviembre de 2007, el Excmo. Sr. Ramlan Kimin asistió a una cena oficial ofrecida por el Excelentísimo Señor profesor George Maxwell Richards, Presidente de la República de Trinidad y Tobago y la Dra. Jean Ramjohn-Richards, esposa del Presidente, en honor a los Jefes de Misiones Diplomáticos acreditados ante la República de Trinidad y Tobago. Más de 40 Jefes de Misiones Diplomáticas entre ellos Encargados de Negocios y sus respectivos cónyuges asistieron a la cena, once de ellos con residencia en Caracas, Venezuela. Mientras en Puerto de España, el Excmo. Sr. Ramlan Kimin realizó una visita de cortesía y sostuvo una reunión bilateral con la Excelentísima Señora Edwin Leacock, Secretaria Permanente del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, el 14 de noviembre de 2007, en presencia del Director de la División de Relaciones Bilaterales del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores.
No se pudo llevar a cabo las reuniones pautadas con anterioridad con el Primer Ministro, Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores y selectos Ministros del Gabinete de Trinidad y Tobago, ya que los miembros del Gabinete encabezado por el Primer Ministro, quienes habían sido juramentados el 9 de noviembre 2007, estaban asistiendo a un retiro de orientación de cinco días en Salybia, unos 300 kilómetros de Puerto España.
