VISIT BY H.E. AMBASSADOR RAMLAN KIMIN TO THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR FEMININE ORIENTATION (INOF), LOS TEQUES, MIRANDA STATE, 6 MARCH 2009
At the invitation of the Office of the Vice-Minister of Internal Relations and Justice of Venezuela, H.E. Ambassador Ramlan Kimin made a visit to the National Institute for Feminine Orientation (INOF) in Los Teques, Miranda State, on Friday, 6 March 2009. Accompanying the Ambassador was Mr. Mohd. Yusof Ahmad, Third Secretary of the Embassy, and wife.
The visit was not only for the Ambassador to meet the Malaysian prisoners at the Institute, but also to attend the “First Gastronomy Festival” organized by the Institute that houses more than 300 women prisoners, including 5 from Malaysia, for various offenses. The Festival was aimed at promoting local gastronomy by the prisoners representing eight countries, namely Portugal; Romania; Dominican Republic; Mexico; Spain; Colombia; Malaysia; and host country, Venezuela.
At the Festival, the five Malaysian prisoners joined forces in preparing some local Malaysian dishes such as “Nasi Lemak”; “Fried Kuew Teow”; “Curry Puff”; “Cucur Pisang”; “Rojak Johor”; and “Bubur Kacang”. One of them also joined other members of the Prison’s Symphony Orchestra by playing a violin in presenting a couple of repertoires that included Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

Por invitación del Despacho del Viceministro del Poder Popular para Relaciones Interiores y Justicia de Venezuela, el Excmo. Sr. Embajador Ramlan Kimin visitó al Instituto Nacional de Orientación Femenina (INOF) en Los Teques, Estado Miranda, el viernes, 6 de marzo de 2009, acompañado del Sr. Mohd. Yusof Ahmad, Tercer Secretario de la Embajada, y su esposa.
El propósito de la visita no fue sólo para el Embajador de Malasia de ver a las presas de Malasia en el Instituto, sino también para asistir al "Primer Festival de Gastronomía", organizada por el Instituto que alberga más de 300 prisioneras, 5 de ellas procedentes de Malasia, por diversos delitos. El festival estaba destinado a la promoción de la gastronomía local por los presos en representación de ocho países, a saber, Portugal, Rumania, República Dominicana, México, España, Colombia, Malasia, y el país anfitrión, Venezuela.
En el Festival, las cinco prisioneras de Malasia prepararon algunos platos típicos de Malasia tales como "Nasi Lemak"; "Kuew Teow”; "Curry Puff"; "Cucur Pisang"; "Rojak Johor"; y "Bubur Kacang". Una de ellas también participó con otros miembros de la Orquesta Sinfónica de la Prisión tocando su violín e interpretando un repertorio que incluyo la Novena Sinfonía de Beethoven.
