APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT (CGC)

 

Malaysian citizens or foreign nationals who live or used to live, study or work in Malaysia may apply for a Certificate of Good Conduct (CGC) from the Government of Malaysia.

 

Application Requirements:

 

  1. Application for the Certificate of Good Conduct must be submitted online through the Ministry’s official portal at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my/login. Guidelines on how to apply for Certificate of Good Conduct can be refer to our Guidelines at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my/templates/manual/PENGGUNA/GUIDELINES.pdf.   
  2. Security vetting will be conducted by the Royal Malaysian Police which may take up to 60 days.
  3. Applicants will receive an e-mail notification when their Certificate of Good Conduct are approved and ready for collection.

 

Collection Procedure:

 

Collection can be done at the Embassy in person by the applicant or a proxy. Collection by a proxy must be accompanied with a Power of Attorney.

 

Required Documents:

  1. E-mail notification that the applicant received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia notifying that his/her Certificate of Good Conduct has been approved;
  2. Passport (must be tally with the one that the applicant used when applying for the Certificate of Good Conduct);
  3. Malaysian identity card (applicable to Malaysian citizens only); and
  4. Power of Attorney and proxy’s identification document that is mentioned in the Power of Attorney such as passport, national identity card, driving license or insurance card (if application is made at the Embassy through a proxy).

 

Fees: AED 20.00 per certificate (cash only).

 

Processing Time: Three (3) working days
