Mr. Muzambli Markam, the Consul General of Malaysia hosted the monthly Consuls General (CG) Luncheon at the Shangri-La Hotel in Guangzhou on 12 May 2016. The CG Luncheon is organized alternately by turn according to a protocol list assigned by the Dean of Consular Corps.
2. At the event, His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, a retired Malaysian diplomat and a former Malaysian Ambassador to China was invited as the guest speaker. The topic discussed during the event was entitled “From Fear to Favor: Malaysia/Southeast Asia Relations with China”. Dato’ Majid gave an overview of his thoughts on the prevailing development with regards to global and regional relations towards China. Several attendees also took the opportunity to exchange views with Dato’ on various related issues.
3. The event was attended by over 30 Consuls General and Consuls from the various foreign Missions based in Guangzhou including the heads of agencies under the Consulate General of Malaysia.
