Consulate General of Malaysia in Kunming hosted the 56th National Day Reception on the evening of 16 September 2013 at Grand Park Hotel, Kunming. Nearly 200 guests comprised of local government leaders and officials, members of ASEAN Consular Corps, Malaysian citizens and friends of Malaysia enlivened the event which lasted nearly two hours.
Consul General Mr. Mohamad Nasri Abdul Rahman in his welcoming speech thanking all the guests for attending the event and wished for the close friendship and cooperation between Malaysia and China would be further strengthened for the betterment of both nations. In conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014, Consul General took the opportunity to invite all the attendees to visit Malaysia next year.
Guest of Honor, Vice Chairman of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Zeng Hua represented the Chinese Government.
A special live performance entitled “Saya Anak Malaysia” by Malaysian children and screening of promotional video “Visit Malaysia Year 2014” won a big applause from the guests. Varieties of Malaysian dishes were served and the lively event ended at 8.00pm.
