On 27 April 2026, CG Kunming received a courtesy call from Mr. Paul Salisbury, Deputy Consul General of Australia in Chengdu (DCG Paul) at the Consulate office in Kunming.
DCG Paul introduced himself and informed that he assumed the post as the Deputy Consul General of Australia in Chengdu since September 2025. He added that his visit to Yunnan was part of his engagement with officials in Yunnan, as the Consulate General of Australia in Chengdu also covers Yunnan.
DCG Paul also informed that Australia's diplomatic network in China includes the embassy in Beijing and consulates in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, aside from Chengdu.
