Consul General, Mr Muhamad Akmal Abdul Wahab received a courtesy call by the UPM Holdings delegation led by Dr. Mohd Kamil Yusoff, General Manager, UPM Education & Training Sdn. Bhd. on 17 October 2023. The UPM delegation was in Kunming attending the Board of Directors of South China & Southeast Asia University and College at Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) on 16 October 2023.
Dr. Kamil informed that during the meeting, KUST has invited UPM to open an overseas campus in Kunming. The idea is still at the preliminary stage and UPM has yet to have further discussion related to this matter. Aside from that, the foreign language faculty of KUST is also interested to add Bahasa Malaysia as one of the offered language courses at KUST and wishes to have a relevant lecturer at their faculty.
UPM also informed that KUST has expressed its interest for more collaboration in the area of student mobility programme as well as summer camp. They are also interested in having a Chinese student exchange program.
