Delegation Meeting with the Foreign Affairs (FAO) of Chongqing, 22 October 2020
The Delegation Meeting headed by the Consul General of Malaysia in Kunming for the Malaysian side and the Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office for the Chongqing side was held on 22nd October 2020 (Thursday).
At the said meeting that lasted about 2 hours, representatives from the Education Malaysia, MIDA, MATRADE, and Tourism Malaysia as well as Immigration Attaché (Kunming) were also in attendance.
At the meeting, both sides have discussed and agreed that economic and investment cooperation should be further strengthened by promoting bilateral trade through various initiatives including seminars, online discussion as well as market familiarization tour that to be coordinated between both sides with the earliest initiative would be the match-making conference between MOFCOM Chongqing with MIDA and MATRADE.
On the education cooperation both sides are keen to further collaborate on the areas of student mobility, joint research and development, and scholarship exchanges.
While on the tourism cooperation more frequent promotion activities or events in Chongqing particularly, in-relation to the Malaysia-China Year of Culture and Tourism 2020 including on the idea to hold the Malaysian Food Festival or Bazaar including culture exchanges will be explored, accordingly.
