ANNOUNCEMENT

EXTENSION OF VALIDITY PERIOD FOR MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT (MIP) FOR MALAYSIAN STAYING OVERSEAS

Effective 1^st June 2021, the Malaysian Immigration Department has decided to extend the validity period for the Malaysian International Passport (MIP) for a period of TWO (2) YEARS for Malaysians abroad whose passport are expiring in the year 2021.

2.    Procedure for extension of MIP is as follows:

1. Extension is granted automatically when the applicant is present for MIP renewal;
2. Requirements for MIP renewal remain in force;
3. The endorsement of the extension will be stamped on the page OBSERVATION or page 48 of the applicant’s passport;
4. Malaysian must hold a valid resident or permanent resident pass of the host country; and
5. No fee for extension.
