On 15 May 2025, Malawakil Kunming in cooperation with Intercontinental Chengdu Century City Hotel launched the Malaysia food festival. The food festival was focused on Malacca cuisine. The festival will be held a month long and will be part of the permanent feature of the hotel’s dinner buffet daily.
The event commenced with the performance of Malay dance followed by remarks by the General Manager of Intercontinental Chengdu Century City Hotel. CG Kunming also delivered remarks during the event.
In CG Kunming’s remark, he highlighted the cultural significance in Malaysia including how the multicultural society influences Malaysian cuisine. CG Kunming also highlighted 2026 as Visit Malaysia Year and invited the guest to consider visiting Malaysia to experience the full cultural experience.
