From 8-10 August 2025, Malawakil Kunming officials (Consul General and Vice Consul) participated in the Belt and Road Food Tourism Industry Exchange Conference in Shilin County, Kunming.
During the event, CG Kunming was given the opportunity to exchange views with Kunming officials, including with the Vice Mayor of Kunming, on matters related to possible cooperation between Kunming City with relevant entities/stakeholders in Malaysia.
CG Kunming took the opportunity to highlight Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN and Malaysia’s role as the current country coordinator for ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations.
CG Kunming also attended the opening ceremony of the Belt and Road Food Tourism Industry Exchange Conference in which CG Kunming was invited to deliver a speech. In his speech, CG Kunming highlighted the Chinese influences in Malaysia’s and Southeast Asian countries’ food and culture. CG Kunming also highlighted Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and invited the audience to visit Malaysia.
