Consul General, Mr Muhamad Akmal Abdul Wahab, accompanied by Ms. Ting Ping Ping, Counsellor Agriculture, Malawakil Beijing, attended the First Yunnan Exchange Event on Geographic Indication for South and Southeast Asia at Haigeng Hall, Kunming on 25 July 2025. The event was officiated by H.E. Liu Yong, Vice Governor of Yunnan Provincial People’s Government.
During the morning session, there were speeches by Mr. Lu Pengqi, Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office of China; Mr. Liu Pingjun, Chairman of the China Brand Development Promotion Association and Chairman of the Advisory Group of the International Organization for Standardization Brand Evaluation Technical Committee of China; Mr. Rabindra Prasad Dhaka, Secretary of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology; Mr. Zhang Jinlin, Director of Yunnan Provincial Administration for Market Regulation; and Mr. Zhang Jianyang, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Following the speeches, the event continued with the announcement of the trademark brands selected by Yunnan Province for the first batch of “Thousand Enterprises and Hundred Cities” trademark brand value enhancement campaign as well as awarding ceremony to selected business entities that has registered their trademarks.
