Third Edition of the Malaysia Food & Culture Festival 2022
The launching ceremony of the Third Edition of Malaysia Food and Culture 2022, collaboration between the Consulate, Tourism Malaysia (Guangzhou) and Crown Plaza Hotel was successfully held on Friday, 20 May 2022 at the Hotel Crown Plaza, Kunming.
Approximately about 60 invitees attended the said launching ceremony including the Deputy Director General (DDG) of Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) of Yunnan, DDG of Commerce Department of Yunnan, DDG of Tourism Department of Yunnan, Director of the FAO Kunming, friends from the media, business community as well as selected partners which mostly those from the Kunming City.
Apart from promoting Malaysia as one of the favorite tourism destination through the introduction of Malaysian cuisine/delicacies, culture and interaction, selected Malaysian partners such as AirAsia, Meetu (coffee), Damawai (Malaysian company based in Chongqing focus on frozen food – kaya, rendang, sambal, nasi lemak and etc), Footprint Company (environment products and bird nest drink) for demo/promotional activity.
At the launching ceremony, the audiences were presented with the performance of Malay-dances including the introduction of Silat from students of the Malay-Language Faculty of the Yunnan Minzu University. Subsequently, the GM and I also took part by performing the Teh-Tarik demonstration to share with the audiences that while Yunnan is known for her Puer Tea, the Malaysians do have ‘lā chá” or 'pulled tea’ to enjoy.
