Malawakil Kunming, in cooperation with Tourism Malaysia and in collaboration with the Malaysia Inbound Chinese Association (MICA), had successfully held the Tourism Malaysia Sales Mission to China at the Wanda Vista Hotel, Kunming.
The event has brought together key players from the tourism industry to strengthen ties and explore new opportunities between Malaysia and China, in particular with Yunnan Province.
The delegation from Malaysia consisted of 87 representatives from 45 travel agencies, 29 representatives from the hotel industry, 9 attraction operators and representatives from Perak Tourism, Sarawak Tourism Board, Tourism Selangor and Tourism Negeri Sembilan. The Malaysian delegation was led by Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin, Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia.
The event has provided an excellent platform for Malaysian tourism stakeholders to showcase the diverse attractions and unique experiences that Malaysia offers, underlining the theme Malaysia, Truly Asia. In addition, the event also includes promotion of health tourism as part of Malaysia’s tourism offering to the locals.
During the event, the Malaysian delegates met with over 150 Chinese travel agents and tour operators, facilitating fruitful discussions on collaboration and strategic partnerships between both countries.
On the sidelines of the event, Malaysian official delegation, led by Dato’ Yeoh, had discussion with Yunnan Department of Culture and Tourism, led by Madam Liu Lina, Deputy Director General of Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism to discuss matters related to tourism and cultural cooperation between Malaysia and Yunnan.
