Consul General, Mr Muhamad Akmal Abdul Wahab with the delegations from MAYCHAM China – Kunming visited to Heqing District and met the officials from the Heqing District People’s Government. CG also visited museum and activities in Silversmith, Indigo Batik Handicraft at the Zhongjing Yushuiyindu Yunnan Holdings (Group) Co. Ltd on 11 December 2023.
Heqing is known a famous as the “Hometown of Folk Art” for its traditional handmade gold, silver and copper crafts. It has a long history, exquisite craftsmanship, and exquisite shapes. In conjunction with the Maritime Silk Road – Cultural Exchange Program, the delegations explored the common ancient culture between China and Malaysia, such as batik indigo batik, embroidery, woods carving art, gold and silver copper, Jiama printmaking, ceramic art, weaving and other traditional handicrafts.
Consul General also had a discussion on the cultural exchange and cooperation project "Maritime Silk Road – Cultural Exchange Program” for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.
