Consulate General of Malaysia in Kunming has visited Shadian, Geijiu City which located around 300km from Kunming on 25 to January 26, 2014. The main purpose was to meet with the Muslim community and to exchange views as well as learning their way of life.
Consulate’s members comprised of 6 HBS and 2 LRS arrived in Shadian around 1.30pm. After lunch, we were taken to the Grand Mosque of Shadian to meet several local Muslim leaders, Imams and the mosque committee members.
Certain bilateral cooperation in the field of education particularly the Islamic studies, economy and trade were among the matter discussed during the meeting. The Consul General himself has promised to give a full commitment to the success of any activities and programs that would be favorable for both parties.
During the two days visit, the Consulate visited several madrasas and schools, and had the opportunity to mingle with some locals in Shadian.
