On the occasion of the 45th ASEAN Anniversary, Ambassador Jojie Samuel and Mr. Roslan Sharif, Counsellor, attended a Flag Hoisting ceremony held at the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Indonesia on 8 August 2012. The Ambassador of Indonesia hosted the programme in his capacity as Chairman of the ASEAN Ambassadors Group in Cuba for the duration of four months, from June to September 2012.
A simple flag hoisting ceremony was held beginning with the ASEAN anthem “The ASEAN Way” followed by remarks by the Ambassador of Indonesia, Ambassador of Cambodia (as Cambodia is the Chairman of ASEAN for 2012), and Mr. Herminio Lopez Diaz, Deputy Director of Asia and Oceania Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba. Among other invited guests were ASEAN Ambassadors in Havana, other ASEAN Missions’ diplomats and media representatives.
