The Embassy of Malaysia in Havana in collaboration with the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) organised the First Malaysian Film Festival, held from 19 to 22 September 2013 at Infanta Multiplex, Havana. The event included four Malaysian films: “Papa, I Love You”, “Ombak Rindu”, “Songlap” and “Karak”. The programme aimed at showcasing the uniqueness of Malaysia and its people of various races and religions to Cuba and the effort of the Embassy of Malaysia to promote Malaysia to the Cuban people.
