On 18 December 2013, H.E. Jojie Samuel, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Cuba, handed over a USD 1,500 donation cheque from the Government of Malaysia to the Islamic League of Cuba. The brief programme was held at the Chancery as part of activities under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP).
Ambassador Jojie Samuel informed that such donation is part of assistance from the Government of Malaysia to other developing countries towards strengthening of regional and sub-regional cooperation as well as fostering collective self-reliance among developing countries, in the with the spirit of South-South Cooperation. Imam Yahya Pedro Lazo, President of the Islamic League of Cuba appreciated the donation from the Government of Malaysia. He further informed that this donation will be used to fund programmes and activities carry out by the Islamic League.
