The Embassy of Malaysia in Havana, Cuba organized the MTCP Alumni Dinner on 5 December 2014 at the Chancery. The event started at 6:15 pm with the opening remarks by Mr. Roslan Sharif, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Malaysia in Cuba, followed by remarks by Mr. Reinanldo Wenceslao Alemán, President of the Cuban MTCP Alumni Association.
The event was attended by Cuban officials from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) as well as Cuban Alumni members from various Ministries and Agencies, Home-based staff (HBS) and other Embassy staff.
Mr. Roslan informed that the MTCP is the commitment by the Government of Malaysia towards the promotion of technical cooperation among developing countries, strengthening of regional and sub-regional cooperation as well as fostering collective self-reliance among developing countries. He expressed the hope that the MTCP Alumni members in Cuba could continue to work together with the Malaysian Embassy, could contribute with recommendations for Malaysia to further improve this programme, and could help future Cuban participants in their preparation before attending courses in Malaysia.
