H.E. Jojie Samuel, Ambassador of Malaysia presented his Letter of Credence to H.E. Madame Gladys Maria Bejerano Portela, Vice President of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba on 15 September 2011. Ambassador Jojie Samuel was accompanied by his wife, Mdm. Catherina Christine Cherian, Mr. Roslan Sharif (Counsellor) and Mr. Mohd Tarmizi Mohd Taib (Second Secretary). Also in attendance during the ceremony was the First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Mr. Marcelino Medina González. After the ceremony, Ambassador Jojie Samuel laid a wreath at the José Martí Memorial.
Ambassador Jojie Samuel arrived in Havana, Cuba on 17 July 2011 to assume his post as the Ambassador of Malaysia to Cuba. Others who presented their Credentials on the same day were Ambassadors of Nigeria and Costa Rica.
