The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba organised a visit to the province of Villa Clara for the members of the diplomatic corps on 8 September 2011. About 70 members of the diplomatic corps joined the visit. Programme included visit to the Che Guevara Memorial Complex, briefing by the province officials on the economic, social and tourist development in the province. Members of the diplomatic corps were also taken on a tour of the Santa Clara city's historical centre, Museum of the Sugar Industry and finally a short steam-train ride to a traditional country-house restaurant.
