Successful launch of Climate Talks 2026 in Suva. The German Embassy in Suva was proud to host the first Climate Talk 2026 at the Grand Pacific Hotel, bringing together representatives from government, regional organisations, civil society, and development partners. Under the theme “Navigating Climate Risks: A Talanoa Dialogue on Climate Finance and Climate Security in Fiji and the Pacific”, participants engaged in an open and inclusive discussion on one of the most pressing challenges facing the region. Discussions highlighted the urgent need to: improve access to climate finance for vulnerable communities strengthen regional cooperation and resilience integrate climate security into planning ensure inclusive approaches that reflect the voices of communities A big vinaka vakalevu to all speakers and participants for a rich and constructive exchange Germany remains committed to supporting Pacific Island countries through partnerships, dialogue, and concrete action.
