TRANSIT OF HIS MAJESTY SAILING SHIP, KLD TUNAS SAMUDERA TO FIJI

 

On Sunday, 17 February 2008, around 8.45 a.m., The Malaysian Royal Navy Tall Ship, KLD Tunas Samudera, arrived in Suva, the Republic of the Fiji Islands as a stop in its round the world voyage.

 

KLD Tunas Samudera has an overall length of 43.75 metres, a total of 410 days sailing around the globe covering 32,920 nautical miles and 25 ports of call.

 

KLD Tunas Samudera, is a participant in the Baltic Tall Ships Races from Port of Arhus, Switzerland to Szczecin, Poland in the global sailing journey and Suva is the 21st port of call.

 

The captain of the ship, Commander Kamarudin Omar, with his 43 crew members was greeted by the officials from the Malaysian High Commission on the arrival and appropriate calls were made by the crew of the sailing ship with their counterparts in Fiji.
