The ASEAN Committee in Astana (ACA) is delighted to announce the inaugural ASEAN Summer Festival on 23 August 2025!
Join us at the Indonesian Cultural Centre, No. 11 Saraishyk Street, Astana, from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm. This exciting event is a collaborative initiative among four ASEAN Embassies in Kazakhstan: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
The festival’s primary objective is to showcase ACA member countries as some of the world’s top travel destinations. The spotlight will shine on the unique heritage, vibrant cultures, and culinary delights of each nation.
The event also aims to raise awareness and promote ASEAN as an organisation to the local community in conjunction with ASEAN’s 58th anniversary, ACA’s 11th anniversary this year. The Embassy of Malaysia will be supported by Tourism Malaysia Almaty, which is also planning some exciting programs for the event.
As part of the celebration, the Embassy will highlight the themes of “Visit Malaysia Year 2026” and “Road Towards Visit Malaysia (VM) 2026,” in line with Malaysia’s National Agenda. Visitors can look forward to engaging in Malaysian cultural programs and tourism highlights, further enhancing Malaysia’s profile as a must-visit Southeast Asian destination.
There will also be a special appearance by “Wira” and “Manja” - the adorable sun bear mascots of “Visit Malaysia Year 2026”.
This festival is open to the public and expected to attract a broad audience, including Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps and their families, friends of ASEAN, as well as art and cultural enthusiasts. It will be officially launched by special invited guests and the Ambassadors of the ACA member countries.
There will be many exciting activities – including captivating traditional dance performances, live cooking demonstrations, traditional games, costume showcases, singing, and fun quizzes. Exhibition booths will feature local dishes including 'teh tarik', handicrafts, and travel materials – offering a delightful experience for all visitors.
