THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SABAH AND SARAWAK REGIONAL OFFICES, MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia has opened its Regional Offices in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Kuching, Sarawak on 1st November 2010.
The establishment of the Regional Offices among others is to facilitate and meet the growing demands of the peoples of Sabah and Sarawak for consular services such as issuance of Letters of Good Conduct and attestation of legal, commerce and trade and marriage documents. At the same time, the Regional Offices will be working closely with the State Governments in matters pertaining to foreign policy including providing appropriate assistance during visits by foreign dignitaries. The opening of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Regional Offices is in line with the concept of ‘1Malaysia: People First, Performance Now’.
