DOING BUSINESS IN MALAYSIA LECTURE AT UNIVERSIDAD PRIVADA DEL NORTE, LIMA

At the Administration and International Business Congress 2016 organized by the undergraduate students and the faculty of the Business School of the Universidad Privada del Norte, Lima on 25th October 2016, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Peru, H.E. Chuah Teong Ban was invited to give a talk on doing business in Malaysia.

 Around 1,000 business students and senior lecturers of the Universidad Privada del Norte attended the event. Many international experts, former Peruvian functionaries, trainers, and Peruvian top businessmen also took part to share their worldviews and experiences.

Ambassador Chuah began his talk by briefly introducing the profile of Malaysia and then shared with the audience the successful experiences of Malaysia in the process of nation building which involved careful planning to move from an agro-based economy to a manufacturing based economy and now becoming a more diversified to include services industries as the mainstay of its economic structures. Through this transformation, Malaysia was able to reduce the poverty line at 49% in 1979 to 1% in 2014 and also successfully created 51% of its population belonging to the middle class, according to World Bank data.

 

The students during question and answer session were particularly interested to know which Peruvian products could be well received by Malaysian consumers.
