The ASEAN Committee in Lima (ACL) made an industrial study visit to OLAM Agri Peru SAC, a Singaporean Coffee Company in Lurin, Peru on 28 September 2017. The visit was organised by the Embassy of Malaysia as the Chair of ACL.
Mr Rohit Chandwani, the General Manager of OLAM Peru briefly explained on OLAM’s organisational overview, its coffee beans collection operation and process as well as it business presence in the Latin American region. OLAM is the biggest multi-national exporter company of coffee beans in Peru.
The members of ACL also had the opportunity to learn and savour the different aromas, blends and tastes of coffee beans from different regions in Peru ranging from the north (Tarapoto, Moyobamba, Cajamarca and the Amazonas), the center of Peru as well as from the south (Ayacucho). It was a very educational and informative visit to learn about other ASEAN Countries’ investments in Peru.
