Luncheon Hosted by Consul General for Malaysian
Students In Davao City
On 24 February 2011, Consul General Mohammad Azhar Mazlan hosted a luncheon at his residence under ‘Program Mendampingi Rakyat Malaysia’. Amongst the invitees were Malaysian students from San Pedro College, Davao City and staff members of the Consulate General. It was the first time that the Malaysian students attended such event of the Consulate General. The Consul General had a short meeting with the Malaysian students and discussed various issues of mutual interest to the students. He emphasized the importance for them to register with the Consulate General.
2. After the short discussion, they were invited to partake the Malaysian food being prepared like chicken rice, roasted chicken, grilled-stuffed bangus, sambal with salad and fresh fruits as dessert. They were delighted as they notably missed Malaysian dishes.
3. Although the gathering was brief, it was a good start of building a relationship among the Malaysian students in Davao City and the Consulate staff. It is also the beginning for these students to cooperate with any undertaking of the Consulate General in the future. At present, there are fifteen (15) Malaysian students throughout Mindanao.
