H.E. Mahinder Singh presented his Letters of Credence to the Honourable George Maxwell Richards, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on 5th September 2012. During the visit to Port of Spain, Ambassador Mahinder took the opportunity to call on the various ministers to identify possible areas of cooperation. Ambassador Mahinder called on The Honourable Winston Dookeran, Minister of Foreign Affairs; The Honourable Senator Larry Howai, Minister of Finance and the Economy; The Honourable Stephen Cadiz, Minister of Tourism; The Honourable Senator Fazal Karim, Minister of Tertiary Education and Skills Training; and The Honourable Jack Warner, Minister of National Security.
A meeting was also held with the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce and Industry to look at possible avenues in enhancing trade and economic ties between the business communities of both countries. Ambassador Mahinder also took the opportunity to meet up with the small number of Malaysians living in Trinidad and Tobago.
