
Caracas, 18 January 2024 – The Embassy of Malaysia proudly supported the University of Santa Maria’s Annual Colloquium of Diplomatic and Commercial Relations, an event that brought together students, diplomats, and representatives from 25 countries. This year’s colloquium focused on the rich heritage and traditions of Malaysia, symbolising a vibrant celebration of diversity and global connections.
The colloquium serves as a vital platform for fostering cultural exchange, dialogue, and collaboration between participating countries. It offers students, academicians, diplomats and the general community the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions on international relations, trade, and diplomacy. This year, Malaysia was again prominently featured, with students from the Faculty of International Relations representing the Embassy to showcase Malaysia’s multifaceted culture, economic prowess, and global significance as a member of ASEAN.
Throughout the event, the students highlighted Malaysia’s diversity, reflected in its multi-ethnic population, colorful festivals, and unique traditions. Presentations on Malaysia’s history, economic development, and strategic role within Southeast Asia provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the country’s influence on the global stage. The students also showcased Malaysia’s culinary diversity through a display of traditional dishes, which allowed attendees to experience the flavours of Malaysian cuisine, further enriching the cultural experience.
The students from the University of Santa Maria expressed great enthusiasm for learning about Malaysia’s heritage and its contributions to global diplomacy.
