MALAYSIA CELEBRATES 51^st ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE, SUNDAY, 31 AUGUST 2008

In the face of rapid progress, Malaysia has been able to keep many aspects of its ancient identity. And it is this achievement of preserve its Old Country heritage amid modernity that Malaysia celebrate today, Sunday, 31 August 2008, as it commemorates the nation's 51st Independence Day. It will now be 51 years since the country has declared independence from the British Commonwealth, and anticipation is infectious as the country wraps up the first year of its golden age.

Formerly an agricultural country, Malaysia has flourished into a thriving hub of information technology. Malaysia is now among the most advanced countries in Asia and now bears the face of progress in the region. Deep-rooted industries, customs, and heritage sites in Malaysia stand side by side with progress and modern technology.

The Embassy in Caracas, however, celebrates the Day this year with fewer atmospheres of excitement and joy due to financial constraint. There will not be any Reception to be hosted by the Embassy this year either for the same reason. Nonetheless, the Day is and will always be remembered and cherished by all Malaysians living and working in this country, Venezuela.

Therefore, on this auspicious occasion of the 51st Anniversary of the Independence of Malaysia, it is an honor for the Ambassador of Malaysia to convey his warm and heartfelt greetings to his fellow Malaysians living and working in Venezuela.

MALASIA CELEBRA SU 51^RA ANIVERSARIO DE LA INDEPENDENCIA, EL 31 DE AGOSTO DE 2008

Ante el rápido progreso, Malasia ha sido capaz de mantener muchos aspectos de su vieja identidad, y por este logro de conservar su antiguo patrimonio en medio de la modernidad es que Malasia conmemora hoy, domingo, 31 de agosto de 2008, la 51^ra Aniversario de la Independencia. Ahora son 51 años desde que el país declaró su independencia de la mancomunidad británica, y su anticipación es infecciosa en vista que el país cierra el primer año de su edad de oro.

De un país agrícola, Malasia ha florecido en un próspero centro de tecnología de la información. Malasia hoy se encuentra entre uno de los países más avanzados en Asia y lleva la delantera en los adelantos en la región. Con industrias, costumbres, y patrimonios profundamente arraigadas Malasia se encuentra posicionada con el progreso y la tecnología moderna.

La Embajada en Caracas celebra este Día con menos entusiasmo y alegría, debido a limitaciones financieras. La Embajada no celebrará este año ninguna recepción por las razones citadas. Sin embargo, el día es y siempre será recordado y apreciado por todos los malasios que viven y trabajan en este país, Venezuela.

Por lo tanto, en esta auspiciosa ocasión de la 51^RA aniversario de la independencia de Malasia, es un honor para el Embajador de Malasia de hacer llegar a los ciudadanos malasios que viven y trabajan en Venezuela su cálido y sincero saludo.
