OFFICIAL VISIT OF H.E. RAMLAN KIMIN, HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR MALAYSIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF GUYANA, 25 - 28 JUNE 2008
H.E. Ramlan Kimin, High Commissioner for Malaysia to the Republic of Guyana, undertook an Official Visit to the Republic of Guyana on 25 - 28 June 2008, aimed at presenting his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Bharrat Jagdeo, President of the Republic of Guyana, on 26 June 2008, at 1300 hours, accrediting him as the new High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for Malaysia to the Republic of Guyana, with Resident in Caracas, Venezuela.
During the visit, H.E. Ramlan Kimin took the opportunity to make courtesy calls on and met with selected Cabinet Ministers as follows, on 26 and 27 June 2008, before flying back to Caracas on 28 June 2008:-
1. H.E. Samuel Hinds, Prime Minister;
2. H.E. Manniram Prashad, Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce;
3. H.E. Dr. Henry Jeffrey, Minister of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation;
4. H.E. Carolyn Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Prior to the Presentation of Letters of Credence, H.E. Ramlan Kimin also met with the Foreign Minister, to whom he presented the Copies of the Letters of Credence, as well as senior officials of the Ministry such as the Chief of Protocol, Permanent Secretary and Head of the Asia Division. In addition, TYT Ramlan Kimin also met with the President of the Chamber of Commerce of
H.E. Ramlan Kimin also hosted a small Dinner in honour of selected Cabinet Ministers and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 26 June 2008, at 1900 hours at Le Meridien Pegasus Hotel, Georgetown, where TYT Ambassador was accommodated at.
Similarly, H.E. Ramlan Kimin also met with Malaysian community over a Reception hosted by him, on 27 June 2008, at 1900 hours at Le Meridien Pegasus. There are some 300 Malaysians living and working in Guyana mainly with three Malaysian timber companies i.e. Barama Company Limited (BCL); Demerara Timber Limited (DTL - Rimbunan Hijau); and Universal Amalgamated Communal Industry Limited (UNAMCO).
VISITA OFICIAL DEL EXCMO. SR. RAMLAN KIMIN, ALTO COMISIONADO DE MALASIA A LA REPÚBLICA DE GUYANA, 25 AL 28 DE JUNIO DE 2008
El Excmo. Sr. Ramlan Kimin, Alto Comisionado de Malasia a la República de Guyana, realizó una visita oficial a la República de Guyana, del 25 al 28 de junio de 2008, donde presentó sus cartas credenciales al Excelentísimo Señor Bharrat Jagdeo, Presidente de la República de Guyana, el 26 de junio de 2008, a las 13.00 horas, como el nuevo Alto Comisionado Extraordinario y Plenipotenciario de Malasia a la República de Guyana, con residencia en Caracas, Venezuela.
Durante la visita, el Excmo. Sr. Ramlan Kimin aprovechó la oportunidad para hacer visitas de cortesía y se reunió con algunos ministros del Gabinete, los días 26 y 27 de junio de 2008, antes de volar de regreso a Caracas el 28 de junio de 2008:-
1. Excmo. Sr. Samuel Hinds, Primer Ministro;
2. Excmo. Sr. Manniram Prashad, Ministro de Turismo, Industria y Comercio;
3. Excmo. Sr. Henry Jeffrey, Ministro de Comercio Exterior y Cooperación Internacional;
4. Excma. Sra. Carolyn Rodríguez, Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores.
Antes de su Presentación de Cartas Credenciales, el Excmo. Ramlan Kimin también se reunió con el Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, a quien le presentó las copias de Estilo, así como altos funcionarios del Ministerio, como el Jefe de Protocolo, Secretario Permanente y Jefe de la División de Asia. Además, el Excmo. Sr. Ramlan Kimin también se reunió con el Presidente de la Cámara de Comercio de Guyana, el Consul Honorario de Malasia y el Decano del Cuerpo Diplomático en Georgetown.
El Excmo. Sr. Ramlan Kimin también organizó una pequeña cena en honor de algunos ministros y altos funcionarios del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, el 26 de junio de 2008, a las 19.00 horas en el Le Meridien Pegasus Hotel, de Georgetown, donde se alojo el Excmo. Sr. Embajador.
Del mismo modo, el Excmo. Sr. Ramlan Kimin también se reunió con la comunidad de Malasia en una recepción ofrecida por él, el 27 de junio de 2008, a las 19.00 horas en el Le Meridien Pegasus. Hay cerca de 300 malasios que viven y trabajan principalmente en Guyana en tres empresas madereras de Malasia, es decir, Barama Company Limited (BCL); Demerara Timber Limited (DTL - Rimbunan Hijau), y Universal Amalgamated Comunal Industry Limited (UNAMCO).
