Strengthening Diplomatic Ties Through the Venezuela-Malaysia Parliamentary Friendship Group

Caracas, 16 October 2024 – The Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) of the Embassy of Malaysia attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly established Venezuela-Malaysia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the National Assembly of Venezuela. This significant event marked another step forward in fostering closer diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The Friendship Group, led by Deputy José G. Colmenares, comprises eight other distinguished Venezuelan parliamentarians. Their collective mission is to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between Venezuela and Malaysia, particularly in areas of shared interest such as trade, education, culture, and diplomacy.

During the ceremony, Deputy Colmenares emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral relations through dialogue and collaboration. The CDA extended congratulations to the members of the Friendship Group, expressing Malaysia’s commitment to working closely with Venezuela in building a partnership based on mutual respect and shared aspirations.

This inauguration reflects the dedication of both nations to deepening their relationship and exploring new opportunities for collaboration. The Embassy of Malaysia looks forward to supporting the Friendship Group in its efforts to promote stronger ties between Malaysia and Venezuela.
