On 31 August 2025, the Embassy of Malaysia commemorated the 68th anniversary of Malaysia’s independence with a flag-raising ceremony in conjunction with Malaysia's National Day. The event honoured the vision and resilience of Malaysia’s founding forefathers hailing the nation's enduring sovereignty. Furthermore, the gathering brought together the Malaysian diaspora living in Zimbabwe, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Malaysian university alumni, and friends of Malaysia.
In his remarks, Mr. Aniff M. Fauzi CDA a.i, underscored the important four key pillars of Malaysia-Zimbabwe relations as trade, investment, education, and tourism calling for the creation of a Malaysia-Zimbabwe Friendship Association to foster deeper cooperation in business and social activities. He also emphasised the message of unity among the Malaysian diaspora as well as reiterated the cordial, mutual beneficial and longstanding relations between Malaysia and Zimbabwe. Ultimately, the event concluded by promoting further networking over a luncheon during which guests were served (Nasi) rice, chicken soto, akok cake, and lemon mint syrup. This final segment allowed for meaningful interaction with all invited guests, perfectly aligning with the spirit of “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni.”
