ARMED ATTACK ON VEHICLES IN THE GOVERNORATE OF MINYA, EGYPT

Malaysia strongly condemns the armed attacks on vehicles carrying Coptic Christians in the Governorate of Minya, Egypt on 26 May 2017, which killed 28 people including children and injured 23 others.

The Government of Malaysia expresses its deepest condolences to the Government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt and to the families and victims affected by the attacks.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo confirms that thus far there have been no reports of Malaysian citizens injured in the incident. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia through the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo will continue to monitor the developments related to the incident.
