On 21 April 2026, the Embassy of Malaysia’s Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) convened for the Launching Ceremony of the Program Khas Kemahiran dan Pemantapan Bahasa Melayu (PEKA BM) KAT Series 1/2026. The ceremony was also attended by the Embassy’s Home‑Based Staff (HBS), reaffirming the team’s shared commitment to strengthening cultural diplomacy and fostering mutual understanding through language. The online Bahasa Melayu class hosted by the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) during the first session introduced foundational Bahasa Melayu phrases which include "Selamat tengah hari" (Good afternoon), "Apa khabar?" (How are you doing), and "Hai, nama saya…" (Hi, my name is…). This initiative is part of a broader effort to deepen cultural ties between Zimbabwe and Malaysia, and to support the day to day use of Bahasa Melayu within the Embassy.
