On 1 April 2026, the Embassy of Malaysia hosted a virtual meeting to raise e‑consular awareness among the Malaysian diaspora in Mauritius, Zambia, Malawi, Seychelles, and the Comoros – all of which fall under the Embassy’s purview. The session provided a valuable platform for participants to exchange views on consular matters and to reinforce unity in the spirit of Malaysia MADANI, a vision launched by YAB Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim that embodies the six core values of Sustainability, Prosperity, Innovation, Respect, Trust and Compassion.
Discussions centred on the features and benefits of the E‑Consular service (e‑Konsular), an online portal that allows Malaysians abroad to register their presence, apply for consular documents, and communicate with the Ministry in real time. Particular attention was given to the recent launch of MyWorldAlert – a dedicated mobile application developed by Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, designed to assist Malaysians overseas during emergencies by providing safety alerts, access to the location of the nearest Malaysian mission, and a direct communication channel for urgent consular assistance. The Embassy looks forward to continuing this engagement with the Malaysian community and to fostering a vibrant, well‑connected diaspora that can actively contribute to the Malaysia MADANI vision.
