EXPLOSION AT ROXAS STREET, DAVAO CITY, PHILIPPINES
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that an explosion took place at Roxas Street, Davao City, Philippines on Friday, 2 September 2016 at around 10.20 P.M.
The explosion resulted in 12 deaths and left 60 injured. Those injured were sent to nearby hospitals and medical centres for treatment. To date, no Malaysians were identified to be involved in this incident.
Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the explosion.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia through the Consulate General of Malaysia in Davao City will continue to monitor the situation accordingly.
