HARI RAYA OPEN HOUSE IN HARARE, 10 SEPTEMBER 2010

To mark the end of Ramadhan for 2010, the Embassy of Malaysia in Harare had organised an Open House for Hari Raya Aidil Fitri at the residence of the Charge d' Affaires (CDA) on 10 September 2010 aimed at introducing the Malaysia's open house concept involving celebration of the main festive events to the international and local communities in Harare in line with the 1Malaysia concept.  The Open House was attended by members of Diplomatic Community in Harare including the Ambassadors from various countries such as the US, China, Japan, India, Russia, Kuwait, Palestine, Sudan and others.  Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were led by Director of Protocol.  Other officials from various Ministries and agencies were also present.  Representatives from various regional and international bodies stationed in Harare were also invited.

 

This year's celebration was special, as the CDA also hosted a group of 10 Malaysian who were in Harare to represent Universities and Colleges in Malaysia while attending the Global Education Fair II 2010 organised in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe from 3-12 September 2010.  They were representing Multimedia University, HELP University, Nilai University College, KDU College, Sunway University and Swinburne University.  Also present were 29 members of MTCP Alumni of Zimbabwe.  Total number of 155 guests attended this year's Open House event including members of the Muslim community in Harare.
