OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS TO QATAR

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman will undertake an official visit to the State of Qatar from 13 to 17 May 2017 on the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
The aim of the visit is to further enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries. It will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders of both countries to discuss various issues of mutual interest particularly in preparation for the State Visit of the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Malaysia in October 2017.
Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman is scheduled to have an audience with the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, call on the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and meet his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
During the official visit, Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman is scheduled to attend the 17th Doha Forum that will be held from 14 to 15 May 2017. The Doha Forum is an annual conference hosted by the Government of Qatar that focuses on issues related to political, economic, social, financial, security, human development and global economy. The theme for this year’s Doha Forum is 'Political and Economic Aspects in Refugee Crisis' which emphasizes on contemporary pressing issues such as armed conflicts, terrorism, extremism, poverty and unemployment.
In addition to these, Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman will also be meeting with the Malaysian diaspora in Doha, Qatar. This visit will contribute towards the enhancement of the bilateral relations between the two countries as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.
