SPECIAL VISIT OF HIS MAJESTY YANG DI-PERTUAN AGONG XV, SULTAN MUHAMMAD V, AND YAB PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA TO BRUNEI DARUSSALAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION OF HIS MAJESTY THE SULTAN AND YANG DI-PERTUAN OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM’S ACCESSION TO THE THRONE

On 5 October 2017, Brunei Darussalam will celebrate the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne. His Majesty ascended the Throne on 5 October 1967.
In conjunction with this historic occasion, His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong XV, Sultan Muhammad V, as well as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Abdul Razak, and wife, Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor will attend a Royal Banquet on the invitation of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 6 October 2017 at Istana Nurul Iman, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam enjoy close, special and brotherly relations underpinned by common and deep-rooted values and cultures that bind the two countries together. The participation of high-level dignitaries from Malaysia in this momentous event will certainly elevate the bilateral relations of both countries to a greater height.
